Past Studies

2022: Dynata® and StrawberryFrog partnered for the third iteration of the groundbreaking Purpose Power Index™ study. This study evaluated how consumers perceived brand purpose, which extended beyond profit-making to a brand's societal role. The Index, the first of its kind, assessed companies that prioritized purpose as a core element of their business, showcasing its potential for growth, transformation, and positive community impact. In 2022, the study expanded to include employee perspectives, marking the largest-ever survey of brand purpose perceptions, involving 20,500+ individual ratings from over 6,500 U.S. consumers and employees across 200 brands.

2021: In the second iteration of the study, RepTrack and StrawberryFrog collaborated on a pioneering study measuring consumer perceptions of brand purpose, which goes beyond profit to a brand's societal mission. The Purpose Power Index™, the first of its kind, empirically evaluated companies that prioritize purpose at their core, among both employees and consumers. This extensive study included over 20,500 individual ratings from more than 6,500 U.S. consumers, spanning 200 brands, conducted online in 2021.

2019: In the first ever iteration of the study, Reputation Institute and StrawberryFrog announced the launch of a breakthrough study measuring how consumers really think and feel about brand purpose. Brand purpose relates to a brand’s mission in society, the higher order reason to exist beyond making a profit. This was the largest study ever measuring perceptions of brand purpose, based on more than 17,500 individual ratings among over 7,500 U.S. consumers, and encompassing more than 200 different brands. The research was conducted online in the Fall of 2019.
